Who We Are

Roy and Elaine Hitchman work as the European directors for 2 = 1 ministry and are based in Hungary. 2=1 is present in 90 nations where couples coach other couples to equip and strengthen marriages and families to help fulfill God's purpose for their lives.

Where We Are

The Hitchmans live in Gyor, Hungary, one and a half hours away from three European capitals: Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest.

Why Hungary?

Eastern Europe is opening up with more ministries opportunities. Hungary is situated in an ideal location to reach out to the Ukraine, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Austria.

What We Will Be Doing

Roy and Elaine will be coordinating 2=1 ministry's activities throughout the nations in the European Union. They relate with each lead couple in each nation and help them with ministry challenges the couples may have and act as cross pollinators taking solutions to issues found in one country to others facing similar issues. They also travel throughout Europe, training groups of couples to teach three 2=1 courses and train each nation's lead couple (National Directors) to train groups of couples in the same way they do. Part of their role involves conducting marriage seminars in Churches across Europe as the opportunity arises. Roy and Elaine also speak at marriage and parenting conferences across Europe. Conferences currently planned include one in the UK in October and one in Denmark in November (one was held in Germany earlier this year). They will also be reaching out to another couple in Russia and help them to fulfill a role similar to theirs throughout the former Soviet nations. In addition to the European Director role Roy and Elaine will continue to develop the 2=1 Website. Roy is the programmer and problem solver while Elaine does the graphical presentation and creative writing.

Prayer Requests

1. The Hitchmans have a house in Ireland that needs to sell before they can proceed with buying a home in Hungary and settling down. Please pray that their house will sell quickly and that they will find a new one to buy in Hungary.
2. Pray that language acquisition for the whole family will go smoothly with as little stress as possible.
3. Pray that the Hitchman's children (Ryan, Beth, and Erin) adjust quickly and are able to make strong friendships in the community.
